SOUL invites you to join us for a Sunday School on Revolutionary Feminism in conversation with veteran activist and public intellectual Selma James and local leaders at some of the most promising fronts of the women's movement today.
We'll learn from current and historic fights for gender, economic, and racial justice, and exchange ideas on building a strong movement for liberation now.

Raised in a movement household, Selma began her political work at age 15, and from 1958 to 1962 worked alongside CLR James in the movement for Caribbean federation and independence. In 1972, she founded the International Wages for Housework Campaign, and in 2000 she helped launch the Global Women's Strike. She coined the word "unwaged" to describe the caring work women do, and it has since entered the English language to describe all who work without wages, on the land, in the home, and in the community.

Andrea Cristina Mercado organizes domestic workers with Mujeres Unidas y Activas (MUA), a grassroots organization of Latina immigrant women fighting for economic, gender and racial justice. She is the Community Organizer and Political Education Coordinator for MUA.

Eveline Shen's work has been at the forefront of fighting for reproductive justice in communities of color and advocating for a more comprehensie and inclusive definition of families. She is the Executive Director of Asian Communities for Reproductive Justice.
