The DJ Project (www.thedjproject.com) is a youth development program built on a hip-hop foundation. It uses music to engage youth and young adults, giving them opportunities to develop in a context familiar to them. DJ Project participants are a collective of critical thinkers, electronic musicians, community-builders, budding marketing professionals, designers and trendsetters.
This position is responsible for coordinating the daily operations of the after-school and summer DJ Project employment modules. The DJ Project Employment Coordinator will work with ten youth employees on the production of various “branded” DJ Project special events (hip-hop hoops tournaments, music conferences, emcee competitions, high school tours, etc.). This process is intended to facilitate the youth learning critical business and administrative skills in an applied entrepreneurship context.
