(SIREN) is
a leading immigrant rights organization in the South Bay dedicated to
providing
immigrant rights advocacy, community education and naturalization
assistance to
Santa Clara County’s diverse immigrant communities.
The mission of SIREN is to empower low-income immigrants and refugees in
Santa
Clara County through direct services, community education and organizing,
leadership development and policy advocacy. We believe that all people
regardless of legal status or nationality are entitled to essential services,
human dignity, basic rights and protections, and access to full participation
in society.
JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
COMMUNITY ORGANIZER
Position Available: Community Organizer- The community organizer develops
leaders, engages allies, and activates grassroots support for the organizing
activities of SIREN. The community organizer is responsible in working with
community members on SIREN’s immigrant rights and social justice campaign
strategies with the goal of developing community leadership. The majority of
the community organizer time will be in the field conducting outreach to
increase civic engagement and empowerment in immigrant rights advocacy in
Santa
Clara County.
Primary Duties
· Identify, recruit, and develop new community leaders;
· Identify the issues of community members in a designated region related
to
immigration/ immigrant rights;
· Recruit new community members to build organizing committees;
· Implement SIREN’s non-partisan electoral plans and strategies with
senior
staff;
· Conduct house visits, phone-banking, and follow-up;
· Plan, organize and facilitate meetings;
· Organize public events, actions, rallies or other direct actions as it
relates to a particular campaign with
senior staff;
· Establish relationships with organizers and activists from allied
organizations and communities;
· Create, develop & maintain documentation to ensure project
effectiveness
& support evaluation efforts;
· Perform other tasks as requested.
Minimal Qualifications:
· Bilingual/biliterate in Spanish/English or Vietnamese/English
preferred;
· Experience in grassroots, movement-building organizing, including
outreach
and leadership development;
· Experience in electoral organizing, including precinct walking, phone
banking, and voter education
· Demonstrate a commitment working with immigrant communities;
· Knowledge of immigrant rights issues, including immigration,
citizenship
and public benefits;
· Strong communication skills and attention to detail;
· Demonstrated ability to take initiative, multi-task, possess good
judgment, and work independentlyand
as part of a team;
· Willingness to learn new techniques, ideas and skills;
· Complete timesheets, workplans and other reporting as needed in an
accurate & timely manner.
Other Requirements
· Occasional work on weekends and evenings
· Should have own vehicle
Salary & benefits: $35,000 - $40,000 DOE. Comprehensive benefits package
including medical, dental and vision benefits.

Director of Finance and Compliance
30-hours/week: Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director,
the Director of Finance and Compliance is responsible for overseeing the
finance department and contract compliance. The Director of Finance and
Compliance reports monthly to the Finance Committee, oversees fiscal
monitoring of all revenue, handles all matters connected with the
business of the corporation. The Director of Finance and Compliance
will develop and maintain a thorough understanding of all contracts
acquired by Tri-Valley Haven, especially in terms of contract
compliance. A particular emphasis of the work will be fiscal: creation,
monitoring and modifying of contract budgets.
General Requirements: Bachelors degree required, MBA/MPA preferred.
Demonstrated supervisory and training abilities. Knowledge of
non-profit accounting software(MIP), and Excel. Ability to manage time
and tasks effectively; detailed-oriented.
Starting Salary Range: $49,920 - $53,040 (for .75 FTE)
